To accompany our Summer Exhibition, Sargent, His Sisters And Their Friends, Sargent’s great-nephew, Richard Ormond, will talk about the family context of these remarkable artworks and their artistic significance. Richard is the former Director of the National Maritime Museum and is an authority on nineteenth century painting. He co-authored the complete catalogue of Sargent’s work.

Commenting on the exhibition, Broadway Museum & Art Gallery Chair of Trustees Malcolm Rogers said, ‘we are honoured that the Ashmolean, our partner museum, has chosen us for the first public showing of these gifts. This exhibition ranks, alongside our previous John Singer Sargent exhibition, as one of the most high-profile exhibitions we have ever featured and as always, we are delighted to be supporting Broadway Arts Festival’.
