Venue: Broadway Museum & Art Gallery
Gilbert and Sullivan wrote the most popular comic operas in the history of English theatre. To anyone who loves musical theatre, Gilbert & Sullivan means melody, irreverence, wit and fun.
The success of the Savoy Operas are all the more surprising considering that these works were written by two men, who considered their best work as anything but these operas . So who were they and how did the Gilbert & Sullivan operas come to be written? Please allow me, Rob Mead to explain and hopefully entertain.
