Always wanted to try modern calligraphy? If you’re a novice to the skill, have dipped your pen a little, or have some skills but need some more calligraphy inspiration, then my Introduction to Modern Calligraphy workshop might be the creativity boost you’re looking for.
In my workshop, you’ll be welcomed with a calligraphy kit that is yours to keep after the workshop. You will first be guided through your new tools, including how to set them up and maintain them for future use. We will then dive into learning the fundamentals of calligraphy and put your new knowledge to paper. This includes creating lowercase letters, how to connect letters, finding your own calligraphy style and practicing common greetings. If you’re flying through your worksheets, you will find a sneak peek of uppercase letters, plus a gift tag and greeting card where you can put your new calligraphy skills to work!
Calligraphy, for me, is a slow and steady process. I find putting the nib to paper very relaxing and this workshop will reflect the calmness that calligraphy can bring. You will go through the worksheets at your own pace within the two and a half hours we have together. As it’s a small workshop, there will be plenty of time for me to guide you, share top tips, and ask any questions you may have along the way.
Hot drinks and sweet treats are included to keep you fuelled and focused through the workshop!
