MICRO-SCULPTURES IN THE EYE OF A NEEDLE
July 6 - September 18
BLINK AND YOU’LL MISS IT!
A fantastic new exhibition of sculptures – set in the eye of a needle
Visitors to the museum will be among the first to view 20 micro-sculptures by internationally renowned Dr Willard Wigan MBE.
Willard is a self-taught artist, famous for creating the World’s smallest sculptures. He is listed in the Guinness Book of Records for the smallest artworks in history and awarded an MBE for his services to art. This is the first exhibition of Willard’s work in the Cotswolds and will feature new pieces not previously shown to the public. Some of the sculptures are smaller than a grain of sand and completely invisible to the naked eye. As such, the needles are presented in a microscope for visitors of all ages to enjoy.
The exhibition is a collaboration between Broadway Museum and Art Gallery and Broadway Luxury, a neighbouring art, home and lifestyle showroom, which currently houses two of the micro-sculptures.
For the first time ever, people will get to see Willard at work, as Channel 4 goes behind the scenes to find out exactly how he sculpts his tiny art pieces which can comfortably sit in the eye of a needle. Watch World’s Tiniest Masterpieces on Channel 4, Sunday 8th July at 22:10
This exhibition has been extended until the 18th September.
