Children from our two village schools took up Broadway Museum’s challenge to produce art based on their favourite part of Broadway. Although Broadway Tower was the most popular subject, it was great to see the many other venues that were chosen, including their favourite sweet and chocolate shops.

The entries were judged by the museum’s artist in residence, Doug Eyre, who was impressed by the standard of the children’s work. After receiving their prizes, the winners were shown around Doug’s studio, where he encouraged them to continue enjoying their art. It was particularly pleasing to see the variety of media used by the children.

Prizes were awarded in two age groups:

Age 5-8 winners: Amelia Page, Charlotte Futers and Louis Couliou

Age 9-11 winners: Mabel Mitchell, Florrie Colledge and Max Norrington

The art is on display at the museum throughout the summer, so come along and admire the work of our budding young artists. Well done to all of them.
