National Volunteers’ Week

National Volunteers’ Week, which takes place from 1st – 7th June every year, is a chance to celebrate volunteering and say ‘thank you’ for the fantastic contribution that millions of volunteers make across the UK. It gives the team at Broadway Museum a great opportunity to focus on our small group of dedicated volunteers who make an immense contribution to the smooth running of the museum throughout the year.

When we say dedicated, we mean it; some of our volunteers have been here since the museum first opened its doors in 2013. All of them play key roles, getting involved in areas such as meeting and greeting our visitors, helping to keep our rooms and exhibits in top condition, day-to-day maintenance of our wonderful Grade II* listed building, running the museum shop, running the second-hand book shop, setting up regular fun events for our many young visitors and helping out at our increasing number of special events.

So, as we say a huge thank-you to our existing team of volunteers, we would also like to welcome new people who have some spare time and would like to ‘give it a go’. If you enjoy meeting and greeting the public, love sharing stories about history, or would just like to help behind the scenes, why not consider joining our friendly team? If you would like to find out more, please call us on 01386 859047 or email volunteers@broadwaymuseum.org.uk. Or just pop in to see us; we are open every day from 10am to 5pm.
